Modern slavery act 2015: slavery and human trafficking statement

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act) and sets out the steps that T.F. & J.H. Braime (Holdings) P.L.C. has taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in its supply chains or any parts of its business.

 

Organisational structure

T.F. & J.H. Braime (Holdings) P.L.C. is the parent undertaking of the following companies involved in the manufacture of metal pressings and distribution of bulk materials handling components - Braime Pressings Limited, 4B Braime Components Limited, 4B Elevator Components Limited, 4B France sarl, 4B Asia Pacific Company Limited, 4B Africa Elevator Components (Pty) Limited, 4B Australia Pty Limited and 4B Braime (Changzhou) Industrial Control Equipment Co Limited. As at 31 December 2018, the group had an annual external turnover of £35.7 million and 174 employees.

 

Our business

Our business is segmented on a geographical basis and managed through the country managing directors. The two divisions of the group are materials handling and monitoring (4B), and metal presswork manufacture.

 

Our supply chains

We aim to only work with partners who share our ethical values. Our current policies in relation to modern slavery are subject to ongoing review, and we are conducting a thorough review of our supply chains across the group. This review is expected to confirm that we have mitigated the risk of modern slavery within our business and amongst our suppliers.

 

Our review focuses on the following areas:

1. the goods or services that they provide
2. whether the supplier is based in a country that has a high prevalence of modern slavery or human rights violations
3. whether the goods or services supplied are carried out in an industry that could employ low skilled or migrant workers, where the supplier is based in the UK

 

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in out supply chains. 

 

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

as part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we will ensure that we have systems in place to:

1. identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains
2. mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains
3. monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains
4. protect whistle blowers

 

Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we are developing a supply chain compliance programme. The board of  T.F. & J.H. Braime (Holdings) P.L.C. and the board of each of its subsidiaries has ultimate responsibility for implementation of the group’s policies, including those that relate to slavery and human trafficking.

 

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, a training program is being developed for our staff.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our group's slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st December 2018.
